Newsletter: 14/5/28: WRiTE CLUB competition
Our last meeting until September 3 is a week tomorrow, on June 4. I was planning to e-mail a reminder and newsletter tomorrow, and I still will, but a quick contest came up today which I think you all might be interested in.
Check out the WRiTE CLUB contest described on Father Dragon’s site. The deadline for entering it is May 31, which is the reason for this prompt e-mail.
In this contest, you enter 500 words in any form and genre on any subject using a pseudonym. All entries are short-listed to 32 by a panel of twelve judges. Then every two weeks for eight, the 32 literally battle it out, and all readers of these entries determine the winners of each round. The winners move on to the next round until only one entry wins the WRiTE. The final winner is chosen by a panel of publishing-industry professionals (authors, agents, editors).
Sound interesting? The deadline is May 31, so get your 500 words in. (And I will include this contest in our Contest Archive on our Wiki.)
Also, our Write Group Letterhead Logo contest is still open until June 4, our last meeting. Fire your imagination and create our next logo to replace our current one. Simply keep The Write Group and Picture the purls penned on our paper and design the rest, even the position of our club’s name and tagline. (I would really like more entries to liven the contest; two (similar ones) have been submitted so far.)
And that is it from me for tonight.
